Lord, spare me from the candidates

any of them.

Barrack Obama is here on Oahu for a vacation.  He was born and raised here, as the local media has to point out endlessly, and still has family here.  He arrived yesterday afternoon and will be here a week I believe.  Normally I wouldn’t care who is here and what they are doing, but political candidates are different.  We live on a very congested, tiny island (which is one reason I’m moving to Colorado).  Traffic here is a nightmare 90% of the time.  By 10am on a Saturday, the freeways are jammed like during rush hour.  It’s really, really bad.  Now, throw in a presidential candidate with police escorts and all this kind of stuff and it’s a thousand times worse.  I can only hope that he doesn’t go anywhere I want to be.  I’m not an Obama supporter but this really has nothing to do with that.  I got angry when Bush the first came here for a visit and I loved him.  He had a public event yesterday and there is a fundraiser dinner tonight ($2300 a plate – hello!!!), hopefully after that he will go somewhere and settle down to relax with his family for the rest of the week.  I am not looking forward to this week at all.
